A beaver pond maze, folk tale puppet show and "phenology wheel" are headed to the middle of frozen Lake Harriet this weekend for the return of the Art Shanties, a village of interactive art projects and experimental performances.
What to expect: Old favorites, including disco karaoke spot "The Sync Hole," will return alongside new projects like submarine shanty "SUB BDé UMáŋ" and "MEDUSA," a crashed alien spaceship that doubles as a dance club.
- Performances include community singing, square dances and B-Icicle Races, where winners get a trophy frozen in a block of ice.
📍 If you go: Lake Harriet, Minneapolis. 10am-4pm Saturdays and Sundays through Feb. 8.
- Free, but $10-$20 donations suggested at the gate.
