Petite León to close Dec. 31 for new cocktail bar concept

Fine dining restaurant Petite León is officially shutting down Dec. 31 to transition into Company Bar, a neighborhood cocktail spot with lower prices.

Catch up quick: The Kingfield restaurant announced its impending closure this fall — eight months after the departure of its James Beard-nominated chef Jorge Guzmán — in part due to the changing economy.

"People don't have much spending power for fine dining right now," co-owner Travis Serbus told MSP Mag in September.

What to expect: No reservations, cocktails starting at $12 and a few items from the Petite León menu. Owners are aiming for "a fancy date night for two for under $100," per a release.
