Minnesota sports' terrible, no good, very bad month

⚽️ A promising Loons season came to an abrupt end after they were bounced from the playoffs Monday night.

🏈 The Vikings fell to 4-7 after a third straight loss on Sunday. More depressing is that the guy they hoped to be the QB of the future, J.J. McCarthy, has looked like a complete bust.

🏀 The Timberwolves have blown two straight games against inferior opponents. Their 10-7 record is respectable, but they've yet to beat a team with a winning record.

🏈 The Gophers football team has lost two in a row and will need to beat Wisconsin on Saturday to salvage a mediocre bowl game.

⚾️ The MLB offseason is about to heat up, but it looks once again like the Twins won't make any big moves. They could trade a trio of stars — including even Byron Buxton — as their payroll continues to dwindle.

🏒 Even the defending champion Frost lost their season opener.

The other side: The Wild have won nine of their past 11 games, thanks in part to the emergence of young goalie Jesper Wallstedt.
