Viral girl group Katseye starts world tour in Minneapolis

Katseye kicks off its first world tour with a sold-out concert at The Armory Saturday.

Why it matters: The Grammy-nominated K-pop-style ensemble is one of the most popular girl groups worldwide.

Their tracks, which rack up hundreds of millions of streams on Spotify, and dance clips are all over TikTok and other social platforms.

💰 State of the seats: Tickets on the secondary market started at around $300 as of midday Thursday.

Catch up fast: The six-member group was created via a 2023 reality TV competition called "The Debut: Dream Academy."

It has the backing of Geffen Records and HYBE, the South Korean entertainment company that manages K-pop sensation BTS.

Between the lines: The group gained even more fame from a 2024 Netflix docuseries that chronicled its creation and a viral Gap ad this summer.

How to fake it (if you're not a fan): The group's six members, who hail from across the world, are Daniela, Lara, Manon, Megan, Sophia and Yoonchae.

Top-streamed singles include "Gnarly," "Touch" and "Gabriela."

If you are a fan but can't make the show, retailer Kpop Nara is hosting a pop-up event with merch and giveaways at the Mall of America Friday and Saturday.
