"Bows of Love"plans to collect blue-and-green Annunciation ribbons tied to light posts, trees and street signs and turn them into a future memorial.
Why it matters: The City of Minneapolis is encouraging residents to remove bows hanging from public property by Oct. 30 so they don't fall off, fade or get damaged this winter.
What's next: While the city won't proactively remove memorials, Public Works may eventually collect bows that are on the ground or on city-owned property as part of street sweeping and other maintenance work.
Residents can also move the ribbons to their private property.
