Four new Twin Cities coffee shops to visit soon

It's National Coffee Day, and plenty of local shops are making moves across the metro:

🪷 Minneapolis' first Vietnamese coffee shop Càphin is adding a second location in the Kickernick building in downtown Minneapolis, it announced last week. No word yet on an opening date.

Already open in the area: Rustica Bakery & Cafe, which took over the former Café Cerés on Washington Avenue earlier this month.

➕ Lowertown's Vietnamese coffee shop Phê Coffee House is also expanding, with a second location opening on St. Paul's Grand Avenue, per social media.

👑 Kingfield has a new shop in a familiar location. Easy Day Cafe opened over the weekend in the former Royal Grounds spot, featuring coffee, pastries and bagels from St. Paul Bagelry.

🔁 The Get Down Coffee Co., entrepreneur Houston White's North Minneapolis coffee shop, is temporarily closing Oct. 1 to become a bistro and coffee bar, per the Minnesota Star Tribune.

Beans will still be available online, at Target and other local restaurants.

🌿 East Lake Street's gluten-free bakery and cafe Milkweed is closing on Oct. 5 after almost seven years. Owners did not give a reason for the closure.
