This is one of the biggest festival weekends of the year in Minneapolis β and if you're brave enough, you can check out four of them in one day.
- Here's our dream itinerary for this Saturday, not including stops for coffee.
π¦ 10am: Kick off the day at the Monarch Festival at Lake Nokomis, a celebration of the butterfly's 2,300-mile migration from Minnesota to Mexico with dancing, art, native plant sales and live monarchs.
π¬π· 12pm: Stop for lunch at the Minneapolis Taste of Greece festival near Bde Maka Ska, where you'll find authentic gyros, spanakopita (spinach pie), loukoumades ("Greek doughnuts") and over a dozen freshly-made pastries.
π 2pm: Head north to Open Streets West Broadway, the family-friendly, car-free street festival with over 250 vendors that spans 13 blocks of North Minneapolis.
π 4pm: Grab your bike on your way back south for the Greenway Glow, the annual art/music/dance/theater festival spread across 20 stops on and around the Midtown Greenway bike trail.
- And if you need to take a break, go for it β Greenway Glow runs until 10pm.
