Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey out-fundraises challengers in first half of 2025

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey's reelection campaign will enter the fall with huge financial advantages over his rivals, according to finance reports released yesterday.

Why it matters: National headlines about state Sen. Omar Fateh's DFL endorsement victory haven't helped Frey's best-funded challenger close the campaign funding gap.

By the numbers: As of July 28, Frey had raised $538,000 this year — more than twice Fateh's haul of $213,000 over the same period.

• Frey has more than half-a-million in his war chest; Fateh has around $54,000.
• Jazz Hampton has about $20,000 on-hand.

What we're watching: After raising $138,000, DeWayne Davis' campaign now has roughly $6,000 left in the bank.
