Three ways to celebrate Juneteenth in the Twin Cities

Thursday is Juneteenth, the holiday commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. Here are three ways to participate:

🎉 Juneteenth Minnesota's West Broadway Block Party kicks off Thursday at 11:30am with the Jubilee Parade through North Minneapolis.

• The road will remain closed through 6pm for the following street festival, which includes live entertainment, vendors, a kids carnival and exhibits showcasing Black history.

❤️ Rondo's celebration "The Journey of Four Families," which runs from noon to 5pm Thursday, includes a reveal of new exhibit panels telling the stories of families who lived in the historically Black neighborhood that was torn apart by I-94.

🌭 "The Great Minnesota Cookout" held by local nonprofit The Anika Foundation will take place the Minnesota State Capitol lawn from noon until 6pm Saturday. Expect family activities, history displays, food and live music.
