Earth Day may not be until Tuesday, but there are plenty of opportunities to get outside and beautify your neighborhood right now.
What's happening: 42 park sites in Minneapolis, including Theodore Wirth, Minnehaha, the Chain of Lakes and areas around the University of Minnesota, will have volunteer clean-ups on Saturday. All are from 9:30am-noon, all ages and no registration required.
- Instead of the traditional one-day event, St. Paul has switched to a request-based, year-round cleanup program β just fill out this form to get city-provided supplies.
Plus: After picking up trash, you can head to themed events like a clothing swap at TARE Market (tickets required, $5), Reuse Minnesota's "Tees to Totes" craft workshop or an informational "water party" at The Market at Malcolm Yards.
