St. Paul city officials announced they've closed off almost all skyway access to the newly-vacant Alliance Bank Building, a move that shuts down a key hub in the downtown skyway network.
Skyway users hoping to go from east to west will need to take an outdoor detour route across Wabasha Street between Lawson Commons and TRIA Rink.
The city says it will maintain fire alarms, elevators and escalators and that St. Paul Police and Fire Departments will continue to patrol the property.
The fine print: Drivers can still park in the building's ramp and use it to access skyways, as MPR News notes.
