Restaurant roundup: Roseville Dairy Queen to reopen as "Dairy Cream"

The historic Roseville Dairy Queen will return, but don't expect any Blizzards. New owner and restaurateur Tim Hughes told the Minnesota Star Tribune the chain was "uninterested" in reopening it as a Dairy Queen.

Instead, Hughes will relaunch the space as "Dairy Cream," with a menu referencing the space's "greatest hits." Expect a June launch.

Big Star Tipsy Taco Bar, the Tex-Mex restaurant taking over the former Betty Danger's, will open next month, per the Minnesota Star Tribune.

Expect a dozen varieties of tacos, agave-focused cocktails, a dog-friendly patio and of course, the Ferris wheel and mini golf.

Moona Moono, a coffee, boba and matcha spot with a curated selection of retail goods such as Korean beauty products, is set to open in the former Paper Source space in Uptown April 12, per its social media.

ICYMI: Kingfield is getting two new spots. The former Kruse Markit will become local coffee roaster Silverbird's first cafe by this summer, per a release.

Meanwhile, Tilia and St. Genevieve chef/owner Steven Brown is opening the 30-seat wood-fired pizza joint Marrone's sometime in 2025, the Minnesota Star Tribune reports.
