Food hall planned for former Minneapolis Rock Bottom space

Downtown Minneapolis will be getting a food hall by the same group behind popular Prospect Park venue Malcolm Yards.
Zoom in: The food hall will be built on the first floor of LaSalle Plaza, taking up the former Rock Bottom Brewery, as well as more of the tower's ground floor space, according to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal.
- The 30,000-square-foot food hall is slated to have space for 16 restaurant stalls, two bars, a self-pour beer wall, a kids play area, plus courts for pickleball and shuffleboard, according to Hempel Real Estate, which owns the building and is partnering on the project.
The big picture: Hempel, which also developed the 3rd St. Market Hall in downtown Milwaukee, said it hopes to begin construction late this year and open in summer 2026.
