Nick here. I think March in Minnesota is underrated, even if it's a bit of a wildcard like this week, with 50s one day followed by snow the next.
Between the lines: Yes, March can be cold and deliver massive snowstorms.
But it also sometimes brings that first 70-degree day, which is like catnip for Minnesotans emerging from winter hibernation. The trails are packed, and restaurant patios come to life.
March is the month of fish frys, St. Patrick's Day, March Madness, high school sports tournaments and, by the end of the month, baseball's Opening Day.
Reality check: Is it as good as September or May? No, not even close. But it doesn't belong in the same category as January and February.
