Travelers taking off from MSP Airport's Terminal 2 will get fresh options for fueling up before their flights in the coming years.
Driving the news: The Metropolitan Airports Commission recently approved several new food vendors for the terminal's ongoing expansion and renovation, including a McDonald's near the center of the terminal.
A new retailer, Hometown Market, is set to replace one of the current convenience stores. It will feature food and products from dozens of local businesses.
Plus: Caribou will have two locations inside the terminal under the plan, including a 24-hour self-serve kiosk, while illycaffè will take over its current spot outside the security perimeter.
The Surdyk's will close and the Subway will be relocated as part of the revamp.
What we're watching: The plans also call for a new full-service restaurant and bar, though an operator hasn't been selected yet.
What's next: The new vendors should open between 2026 and 2027.
