The Art Shanties are back on ice! After delays and closures due to warm weather last year, the "village" of interactive art projects and experimental performances is scheduled to take over the middle of frozen Lake Harriet every weekend through Feb. 9.
What to expect: Old favorites like flaming dumpster dance party "HOT BOX: Disco Inferno II" will return alongside new shanties like "Opening the Black Box of Winter", a project from University of Minnesota researchers that "invites a peek into what's going on under the frozen lake."
- Performances include a puppet wrestling-style match, frozen yoga, bicycle races, singalongs and much more.
π If you go: Lake Harriet, Minneapolis. 10am-4pm Saturdays and Sundays through Feb. 9.
- Free, but $10-$20 donations suggested at the gate.
