The hunt for the gunman who killed UnitedHealth Group executive Brian Thompson enters day three this morning.
The latest: New York City Police yesterday released photos of a man they say they want to question that were taken from surveillance at an Upper West Side hostel before the shooting.
The words "deny," "defend" and "depose" appeared on shell casings recovered from the scene of the shooting, according to the Associated Press, which cited anonymous law enforcement sources.
Back in Minnesota, police responded to fake bomb threats Wednesday night at the Maple Grove home of Thompson as well one nearby that is owned by his wife, Paulette.
Nothing suspicious was found at the homes, and police called it an act of "swatting."
Meanwhile, social media-fueled rage continued against health insurers, with posters lashing out over coverage denials and other business practices.
UnitedHealthcare is the country's largest private health insurer and, like other big carriers, has been targeted with lawsuits and criticism from regulators and lawmakers over allegedly denying claims to maximize profits.
A separate insurance company, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, rolled back a controversial new policy yesterday that limited coverage for anesthesia during surgeries, Axios' Nathan Bomey reports.
