Thousands of art lovers will flock to the Minneapolis College of Art and Design this week for the MCAD Art Sale, a chance to shop and support hundreds of local and up-and-coming artists.
The big picture: The annual event features paintings, photography, jewelry, textiles and much more by MCAD students and alumni at a variety of price points โ and 80% of all sales go directly to the artists.
- It kicks off Thursday night with a benefit fundraiser/first look. Limited tickets are available at the door.
- The "Date Night" party is on Friday ($30/person), while Saturday admission is free.

- Pro tip: Street parking is limited and the nearby garage can fill up fast, but the 11 and 18 bus lines run frequently and will get you within a few blocks.

- The holiday market will host the half-man, half-goat folklore creature that terrifies misbehaving children on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights โ and he'll pose for pictures. Free
๐ฅ Toy cars will come to life Saturday and Sunday at the Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Glow Party in Target Center.
- The production features a laser light show, toy giveaways and an appearance from a "car-eating, fire-breathing transforming robot." Kids tickets start at $13, adult tickets are $25+.
