The Lynx are heavy underdogs against New York this week

The Lynx will need to defy the odds yet again if they want to bring a fifth WNBA title back to Minneapolis.

State of play: With their best-of-five series against the New York Liberty tipping off tonight, the Lynx have a 30% chance of wining the title, according to Fanduel.

What they're saying: "New York is a team dripping in All-Stars, accolades and expectations," The Athletic's Chantel Williams wrote of the No. 1-seeded Liberty, who are led by two-time MVP Breanna Stewart.

The other side: The Lynx were picked in preseason polls to miss the playoffs.

The fact that Cheryl Reeve put this team together and coached it up as she did is yet another achievement in her already illustrious career.

Tipoff is at 7pm Thursday in New York.

All games will be on ESPN except for game 2 on Sunday, which will be on ABC.
