Downtown Minneapolis Light Rail stops to close Wednesday night through Monday

Due to scheduled maintenance, buses will replace Green Line and Blue Line trains between Target Field and the Stadium Village and Franklin Avenue stations from 10 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, through the start of service on Monday, Oct. 14. — The impacted stops. Image courtesy of Metro Transit

Transit riders take note: Construction will disrupt light rail service in downtown Minneapolis from Wednesday night to Monday morning.

State of play: All downtown stations will be closed and buses will replace trains between the following stops starting at 10pm Wednesday.

🔵 Blue Line: Franklin Ave to Target Field.
🟢 Green Line: Stadium Village to Target Field.

Driving the disruptions: MetroTransit is replacing rail and cables, relocating circuit hardware and doing work related to future extensions.

The bottom line: The buses may take longer because of the routes and traffic, so MetroTransit recommends allowing extra time for trips during this time.
