Just over a quarter of Minnesotans are having a hard time paying for everyday expenses, ranking among the lowest rates in the country, according to new U.S. Census data.
The big picture: About 37% of American adults are in households that found it somewhat or very difficult to pay for typical expenses between late June and late July, according to the U.S. Census Bureau's Household Pulse Survey.

Zoom out: Rising prices have hit consumers hard, particularly in the southeast.
Yes, but: Minnesota, at 27.4%, ranked behind only Washington, D.C. (19.3%) and Vermont (26.4%) as states with the fewest residents reporting such difficulties.
