More light rail service

Starting this weekend, Metro Transit will change its light rail schedule to run more frequent trains on the Green and Blue lines.

The latest: Beginning Saturday, trains will run every 12 minutes between 11am and 6pm.

• Currently, they run every 15 minutes.

Between the lines: The quicker cadence is part of a switch Metro Transit announced in April that cut trains from three cars to two.

• The middle car was a hotspot for drug use and other rule-breaking.
