Five Twin Cities restaurant openings to watch in 2024

2024 is shaping up to be a big year for restaurant openings as Twin Cities' top chefs expand their portfolio and industry veterans debut their own locations.

  • Here's what we're watching this year:

B没cheron: Demi's longtime chef de cuisine Adam Ritter left the Gavin Kaysen restaurant to open an elegant, upscale French-American restaurant in South Minneapolis with his wife and fellow Kaysen alum Jeanie Janas Ritter. Expected Jan. 9.

Chilango: Petite Le贸n chef Jorge Guzm谩n is opening a second Minneapolis restaurant in the former Urban Eatery space, offering "elevated Mex-Tex" and a bar program highlighting tequila and frozen drinks. Expected February.

Dario: Two industry veterans are behind this upcoming New American restaurant in North Loop with a focus on handmade pasta and vegetables. Expected early this year.

Diane's Place: Acclaimed pastry chef Diane Moua will open her first solo restaurant, an all-day Asian bistro with Hmong-inspired dishes, in Northeast Minneapolis' Food Building. Expected early this year.

Vinai: Union Hmong Kitchen chef Yia Vang's long-awaited upscale Hmong restaurant, which was initially announced in early 2020, is officially opening in the former Dangerous Man Brewing Company space in Northeast Minneapolis. Expected this spring.
