Being a Vikings fan is stressful

Monday night's last-minute loss to the Chicago Bears was just the latest nail-biter for the Minnesota Vikings, who have been causing the hearts of their fans to race the last two seasons.

By the numbers: Since Kevin O'Connell took over as head coach last year, the Vikings have played 29 regular season games, and 22 of them have been decided by one score.

State of play: This tense brand of football is not normal. Just 56% of NFL games over the same period of time have been decided by one score compared to 76% for Minnesota.

The bottom line: Last year, the Vikings miraculously won all 11 of their close games. This year they've gone 5-6 in them, which is why they're on the bubble for making the playoffs with a 6-6 record.

What's next: Minnesota has a bye-week before heading to Las Vegas to face the Raiders on Dec. 10.
