American Girl's newest doll hails from Minnesota.
Driving the news: Lila Monetti, the beloved doll brand's 2024 "Girl of the Year," is supposed to be from St. Paul.
Catch up fast: Unlike the classic dolls set in different historical eras, Lila is part of the newer "Girl of Today" series.
- She was officially unveiled in October but brought to our attention by the Star Tribune this week.
Zoom in: Lila, a 10-year-old competitive gymnast-turned-horse enthusiast, loves pancakes, French braids with sparkle gems, her similarly bedazzled horse Hollyhock and Trick-or-Treating, per her bio.
What she's saying: "Born to ride and ready to fly," according to the "mantra" listed on her "more about me" page.
What's next: A book based on Lila's character story, "Lila Goes for Gold," will be released in January.
The catch: These dolls aren't cheap. Adding 18-inch Lila to your family would cost $115.
