Restaurant Roundup: Downtown Minneapolis loses its Dairy Queen

Tender Lovin' Chix, the food truck run by the teams behind Billy Sushi and shuttered fried chicken restaurant CHX, is opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant in the former Fire & Nice Ale House next year, Mpls.St.Paul Magazine reports.

🍦 RIP downtown Minneapolis Dairy Queen. The chain's location in U.S. Bancorp Center will permanently close this Friday due to lack of foot traffic, Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal reports.

🍷 Café and wine bar Silver Fern is now open in Northeast Minneapolis. It's currently serving breakfast and lunch with evening hours to come, according to social media.

🍝 Campiello in Eden Prairie is closing at the end of the year. Owners of the Italian restaurant, which opened nearly 30 years ago, chose not to renew the lease.

🚧 Saji-Ya and Emmett's Public House, which closed in 2021 due to surrounding construction, are reopening on Grand Avenue in St. Paul very soon, according to social media.

πŸ” Breva is now open inside the former Monello space in downtown Minneapolis' Hotel Ivy, per a news release.

  • The New American bar and grill will be joined by Masa & Agave, a basement-level cantina that replaces Constantine, later this fall.

πŸ˜‹ Dario, a New American restaurant by two industry veterans with a focus on handmade pasta, is coming to North Loop early next year, Mpls.St.Paul Magazine reports.
