Minnesota's firearm deer hunting season starts Saturday, Nov. 6.
So how do we compare with other states when it comes to deer harvests?
By the numbers: Hunters bagged 183,637 deer in 2019, ranking us 14th in the nation.
Of note: The state Department of National Resources is strongly encouraging folks hunting in certain zones near the North Dakota border to use self-service sampling station to test dead deer for chronic wasting disease following a suspected case in the area.
