Jester Concepts, the group behind Parlour, Borough and the forthcoming revival of Butcher & the Boar, has a proposal for a restaurant in Edina.

Details: The company has unveiled preliminary plans for an "elevated pizza concept" with small plates and other entrees, wine, beer and craft cocktails.

  • It's teaming up with Shea Inc. on a design that would include a patio and a top floor for private event space and overflow dining.

The intrigue: This restaurant proposal is part of a broader, more complicated redevelopment plan for a vacant city public works site at Highway 100 and Eden Blvd.

  • The City Council is still working with developers Frauenshuh and United Properties on the project, which would include 90 units of senior housing, a medical office building, parking and a public plaza.

What to watch: City Manager Scott Neal said the council received the proposal with enthusiasm and staff is going to keep working with Jester Concepts on the plan.

  • Brent Frederick, Jester's chief manager, called the proposal "fluid" and subject to changes during negotiations with the city. "I have no assurances it's going through."
