It's raccoon season apparently, as mothers and kits leave their dens and go out to prowl in the evenings.
That means you may see more of these adorable fur balls, like I did on a recent evening walk.
"They don't always stick with the same den the entire time, so they may be moving around and showing the kits how to hunt, or or just gathering food for them and bringing it back to them," San Diego Humane Society Wildlife Operations Manager Autumn Welch told Axios.
But please don't get close, Welch added. And keep a lid on your trash and bird seed, because it's better for raccoons to not eat human food.
"I know they're so popular right now on social media, and they're really cute little mammals, but let them have their space, and that way we can all coexist together," she said.
