New Asian fusion spot opens in North Park

Common Table is now serving modern Asian comfort food in North Park with delicious and unexpected bites and brews.

Dig in: The casual restaurant, which had its grand opening last weekend, is the new permanent home of the popular Asian fusion pop-up 86'd.

San Diego natives Megan Ly and Nate Cadsap, who's worked in the kitchens at Underbelly and Animae, moved into the space just a year after launching their mobile concept, San Diego Magazine reported.

Best bites: I can't stop thinking about the Filipino-inspired longanisa burger — a pork sausage patty with a fried egg, garlic guac and cucumbers on a brioche bun.

Ramen meets birria in the smoky chashu tacos, with slow-braised beef, oaxacan cheese, wasabi crema, cabbage and pickled onions.
The juicy Japanese-style Katsu sando is another specialty, with a tender, thick and crispy chicken thigh accompanied by nanban ketchup, slaw and pickles.

Sip on a creamy Ube Hazy IPA or citrusy Yuzu blonde ale from Embolden Beer Company's SHOGUN series.

💭 Kate's thought bubble: I'll be back soon to try the fresh, Korean-style bossam spring rolls with pork belly that had already sold out by dinner time on Saturday.

Stop by: Common Table is open noon-7pm Tuesday-Saturday and noon-6pm on Sunday at 3914 30th St. in North Park.
