An's Dry Cleaning has the best ice cream in America

Dig in: An's menu changes every two weeks, rotating gourmet, seasonal flavors like "leather" (brown butter and chocolate chip cookies), "foulard" (coconut cream cheese, tropical jam and graham crackers) or "canvas" (olive oil and rosemary).

The vibe: Each location's decor embraces the identity of its building or neighborhood.

• The flagship location, which opened in 2018 on Adams Avenue in North Park, has flavors named after fabrics and is designed like an old dry cleaning and tailor business, complete with ironing board tables.
• An's Hatmakers in Del Mar pays homage to the racetrack and An's Athletic Field Services is in Petco Park.

The latest: The newest location, An's Electronics Repair, opened in an old cell phone and computer repair shop in Ocean Beach in April.

• It features scoops like "Motherboard," a chocolate and peanut butter whisky collaboration with OB Noodle House, and the strawberry matcha "Walkman."
• There's a grand opening event at 11:30am on Saturday to celebrate An's USA Today honors, per the Union-Tribune.

State of scoops: This is the third year that An's has made the national top 10 list as the city enters what San Diego Magazine dubs the Golden Age of Ice Cream.

• Stella Jean's seasonal scoops won reader's and critic's picks in San Diego Magazine's 2025 best restaurants issue, and An's was the runner-up.
• Little Fox Cups & Cones is also a popular spot, and North Park Creamery is the go-to for softserve.
