San Diego is among the big U.S. citieswhere commuters run into the least traffic, at least measured by how fast we're able to drive, per a new report from Lyft.
By the numbers: Lyft rides to or from work locations in San Diego during peak commute times reached an average speed of 27 miles per hour over the last year, the fourth fastest of any city with at least 500,000 people.
Commuters who relied on Lyft to get to work averaged 24 minute trips, per the report.
Theorizing that 20 minutes in congestion is worse than 20 minutes in free-flow driving, Lyft combined cities' average speeds and commute time into an overall metric, in which San Diego ranked seventh nationwide.
