Dozens of San Diego businesses are among the fastest-growing private companies in the country.
Why it matters: This year's Inc. 5000 list, released last week, recognizes startups that together have created hundreds of thousands of jobs, and posted significant revenue growth through the pandemic.
Driving the news: PL360°, the parent company of financial services firm Del Toro Loan Servicing in Chula Vista, ranked highest locally at 49th.
- It saw 5,566% revenue growth from 2020 to 2023.
How it works: Companies are ranked based on percentage revenue growth over those three years.
- To qualify, they needed $100,000 minimum revenue in 2020 and $2 million in 2023.
CourtAvenue (58th), a digital-marketing firm based in San Diego, saw 4,802% growth.
Wildfire Systems (80th), a Solana Beach software company that powers online-shopping reward programs, saw 3,780% growth.
Zoom out: California is home to 663 companies on this year's prestigious list, including 88 in San Diego County.
- Together, the local companies added more than 5,600 jobs and achieved a median growth rate of 207% over the past three years.
- The top three local industries represented were business services and products (16), advertising and marketing (14) and software (9).
Seven other local companies ranked in the top 500:
- KSA Technology Partners, a Coronado-based tech recruiter.
- REA.co, a real estate accounting firm.
- Valoroo, a transportation and logistics company.
- Virtual Latinos helps businesses hire Latino professionals.
- Crown Point Systems provides security and intelligence software to government agencies.
- Cymbiotika sells vitamins and wellness supplements.
- Foster Display Group (formerly Marketing Genome), a marketing agency in Oceanside.
Flashback: EverHive Corporation, a human-resources company that builds custom workforce management systems to help companies grow, ranked 9th on last year's list after seeing 25,801% revenue growth over three years.
- It ranked No. 4,551 this year and saw 89% growth.
