Ambrogio by Acquerello, an upscale Italian restaurant in La Jolla, has earned a spot in the California Michelin Guide, the Union-Tribune reported.
Why it matters: It's the first San Diego County eatery this year to be recommended by Michelin — the world's most prestigious food critic.
By the numbers: The county has 55 Michelin-recognized restaurants, per the U-T.
What's next: Restaurants receiving new Michelin stars will be announced at the California Michelin Ceremony on Aug. 5 in Half Moon Bay.
💭 My thought bubble: The dishes at this fine-dining restaurant are beautiful, but I'm more likely to indulge in a slice at the group's pizzeria, Ambrogio15, with locations in Little Italy, Pacific Beach and Del Mar.
