Early season snow turns region into a winter wonderland

December came with an arctic blast, but at least it looks beautiful.
☃️ The big picture: The region saw between 2-5 inches of observed snowfall after a storm brushed through Tuesday morning, according to the Pittsburgh office of the National Weather Service.
🌨️ Zoom in: Butler County got hit hardest. One location saw just above 5 inches and most of the rest of the county saw over 4 inches of snow, according to the weather service.
- The city of Pittsburgh got about 3 inches.
🥶 What's next: Cold temperatures will persist throughout the week. Daily highs for this week are forecasted to be around freezing.
