The Steelers know the best way to make a Pittsburgh salad even more Pittsburgh is to add pierogies.
The intrigue: The Steelers home opener is this Sunday — as the team takes on the Seattle Seahawks at Acrisure — and hungry football fans can expect more than just touchdowns.
🥟 Dig in: The Pierogi Pileup leads the charge of new offerings: featuring fried pierogis, hot Italian sausage, white cheddar cheese sauce, fries, honey mustard slaw, dill crema, and fresh dill in a massive bowl, according to a press release.
- It's essentially a Pittsburgh salad, but replace the healthy and cumbersome vegetables with delectable pierogies.
- Order at concessioners in sections 506, 516, 529, and 534.
There are also a slew of new sliders called "Pick 6 Sammies."
- 🥩 A beef and cheddar slider comes with Vermont white cheddar and jalapeño-bacon jam.
- 🍗 The crispy chicken sandwich is topped with orange marmalade and creole mustard.
- 🦀 A crab cake sandwich is served with lettuce and tomato.
- Order at self-check out kiosk at UPMC Club 209 and West Club 233.
Zoom out: Acrisure also has a bevy of new enhancements this year.
- The marquee scoreboard on the east side of the stadium is now about 1,117 square feet — roughly seven times larger than the previous screen.
- A new mini football field was installed outside the stadium near Gate A.
- Don't miss the official countdown clock for when Pittsburgh hosts the NFL Draft, and a 2026 NFL Draft Mobile Exhibit on Art Rooney Avenue.
What's next: Kickoff against the Seahawks is at 1pm on Sunday.
