Football season is just around the corner, and Pittsburgh is getting started early.

The intrigue: Crews are building a mini AstroTurf field outside of Gate A at Acrisure Stadium on the city's North Shore.

• It's 30 yards long.

Context: The new field will be part of the city's 2026 NFL Draft, Steelers spokesperson Cecelia Cagni tells Axios.

• After the draft, the field will stay and host programming on Steelers and Pitt event and game days, she said.
