Pirates legendRoberto Clemente is getting the silver screen treatment with the new documentary "Clemente," which will be released on Sept. 12.
The intrigue: Puerto Rico-born Clemente is arguably the Pirates greatest player, but his charitable legacy off the field and his effect on Latino culture are just as memorable.
The film doesn't shy away from tough issues, shining a light on the discrimination Clemente faced, as well as digging deeper into his untimely death in a plane crash while on a humanitarian trip to Nicaragua.

Stars like Pittsburgh-area native Michael Keaton, actress Rita Moreno and New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor make appearances.
What's next: The Lindsay Theater in Sewickley will show "Clemente" between Sept. 12-18.
It will make its television debut on The History Channel on Sept. 23.
