Monday, Oct. 5, is the final day to register to vote if you want to participate in the Nov. 3 midterm elections.

Why it matters: Voters will weigh in on several key statewide races, including Florida governor, U.S. Senate, several U.S. House races, as well local seats and referendums.

One of the most contentious ballot initiatives this year is City of Miami Referendum 3, a proposed redevelopment of the Rickenbacker and Marine Stadium marinas.

How to register: Residents who meet the eligibility requirements can register to vote online or via mail, so long as the registration application is postmarked by Monday.

Online, head to RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov and do so by midnight Monday.

Other ways include visiting a tax collector's office that issues FL driver's licenses or state ID cards, voter registration agencies and local elections offices.
