Here are some events happening around Miami this weekend.
Afro-Cuban Art: History and Memory Panel: At the Lowe Art Museum in Coral Gables, panelists will discuss the role of "artists, scholars, museums and archives in documenting and presenting its history."
- Thursday, 6:30pm-9pm. Tickets: $15
NÓMADE BONFIRE: David Molho will perform Argentinian rock classics during an intimate bonfire-style show with floor seating. Beer is available but you can also bring your own drinks and snacks.
- Thursday 7:30pm-9:45pm at Industrious in Wynwood. Tickets $30.
Sept. 11 Day of Service: The Sierra Club- Florida Chapter is partnering with the Friends of Oscar Scherer State Park to clean up and restore the park's scrub forest, a critical habitat for the Florida scrub-jay. Coffee and breakfast provided at Pavilion #4.
- Friday, 8:30am-11:30am. Oscar Scherer State Park in Osprey, FL.
Park cleanup: Miami Waterkeeper is recognizing Microplastic Awareness Month with a volunteer cleanup. Bring closed-toe shoes, sun protection, a refillable water bottle and clothes that can get wet.
- Saturday, 9:30am-11:30am at David T. Kennedy Park in Coconut Grove.
Kayak and clean: You can also help clean up marine trash before it reaches the shore at Crandon North Bear Cut. Must bring or rent a paddle board/kayak and life vest, as the group will paddle onto Biscayne Bay and remove debris from mangroves.

Brazilian singer-songwriter Mari Froes performs at the Miami Beach Bandshell.
- Saturday, doors at 7pm. Tickets $34.
Sway & Sip: Queer Salsa Social: Hosted by Amigos Meet, this event will feature an optional "speed friending," beginners Salsa class and live music.
- Saturday, 8:30pm-2am, Twisted Tonic at The Lincoln Eatery. Tickets: $27+
