Miami-Dade voters elected new local leaders and chose their party's nominees for the November election.
State of play: From the Miami Marine Stadium referendum to the race for governor, here's where some of the region's biggest races stand, according to preliminary results from Tuesday night.
Miami-Dade Commission Commissioners Marleine Bastien and Danielle Cohen Higgins were comfortably on track to win re-election in their races for Districts 2 and 8.
- District 5 Commissioner Vicki Lopez appears headed for a Nov. 3 runoff against second-place finisher Rob Piper, according to preliminary results.
Miami Marine Stadium referendum: City of Miami voters approved the city’s proposal to hire a private firm to manage events on the stadium property and help fund the restoration of the historic venue.

Miami-Dade School Board District 1: Katrina Wilson and Linda Cothiere appear to be headed to a November runoff in their race to succeed former board member Steve Gallon III.
- District 8 board member Monica Colucci easily secured her reelection.
Governor: Republican Byron Donalds will face off against Democrat David Jolly in the general election, according to the Associated Press.

Florida House District 106: Democrat Lucia Báez-Geller was on track to face embattled Republican incumbent Fabian Basabe in November.
Florida House District 108: Daphne Campbell appeared to win the Democratic nomination to succeed Rep. Dotie Joseph in this Democratic-leaning district.
Florida House District 109: Democrat James Bush III was on track to claim the party’s nomination to succeed Rep. Ashley Gantt in the reliably Democratic district.
Florida House District 113: Democrat Gloria Romero Roses appeared on track for a November matchup with Republican Bruno Barreiro.
Florida House District 118: Incumbent Republican Rep. Mike Redondo will face Democrat Armando Castillo in November.
State Senate District 34: Rep. Ashley Gantt was on track to face Republican Elizabeth Jeanty in November.
U.S. Senate: Incumbent Republican Ashley Moody and Democrat Angie Nixon advanced to the general election, according to the AP.

U.S. House District 24: Miami-Dade Commissioner Oliver G. Gilbert III appeared to be on track to claim the Democratic nomination to succeed Congresswoman Frederica Wilson.
- Gilbert will face Republican Te Brown in the general election, but the district is a longtime Democratic stronghold, the Miami Herald reports.
U.S. House District 25: Democrat Jared Moskowitz and Republican Scott Singer were on track to face off in the general election.
U.S. House District 27: Democratic former Miami TV journalist Eliott Rodriguez appeared on track to face Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar in November.
