Review: Gaby Cucina at Aventura Mall is tasty but pricey

I always liked Call Me Gaby in South Beach, so I checked out its sister restaurant, Gaby Cucina, at Aventura Mall.
State of plate: Just like the South Beach location, Gaby Cucina is pricey but delivers high-end flavor.
Perfect bite: I fell in love with the Sonia saltimbocca, a crunchy pizza dough opened like a sandwich and stuffed with mortadella, stracciatella, crumbled pistachio, olive oil and basil.
- This crispy-yet-succulent sandwich tasted like it was made with salted focaccia except it's razor thin and easier to eat.
- For $26, I won't be back, but thanks for the memories.
What else: The $29 "Monica" flatbread pinsa — a simple dish with tomato sauce, spicy nduja spread, stracciatella and basil — felt a little small for the price.
