Tín Tín is an exciting new restaurant I'll be trying again

I tried Tín Tín, Calle Ocho's newest restaurant from the team behind Tinta y Café, and, well, I'm unsure about it.
Why it matters: I am a Tinta stan (RIP the OG Brickell location) and deeply wanted to love it at first bite.
- But after a recent visit with two of my friends, Ali and Karina, I texted my family group chat (all Tinta fans) that it was "just ok!" and I've been upset ever since.
Yes, but: Vibes were great.
- The modern-contemporary-funk decor felt fun and inviting (think: wishbone-style chairs, deep teal tiles lining the bar and low-hanging, eclectic lights).
Context: We went for happy hour. We were jazzed a Miami restaurant offered a discounted menu on a Saturday and until 7pm.
The drinks: The Clarita Guayabita (a tequila drink with a guava-and-cream cheese clarified concoction and a house Maria cookie) and the Rosita "La Saguesera."
- They were a little too creative (and sweet) for me. I want a classic bev; let's not overcomplicate things.
- And at $16 each, it doesn't feel like HH, but I digress.
The standouts: The half-roasted boneless chicken (not on HH). The bird was juicy, herby and sat over a lovely cream sauce.
- The Panzanella's crispy pork belly and mojo vinaigrette offered lots of flavor.
The other side: The wahoo crudo is where things went sideways.
- The fish itself was buttery and light, but the sweet potato relish and coconut leche de tigre were far too sweet (it was giving cereal and milk).
The bottom line: I plan on giving Tin Tin another try, because when I forget about the cocktails and the crudo, everything else was delish.
