Caribbean Isles to add affordable senior housing to South Miami

• The 142-unit development is also near the county's new South Dade Bus Rapid Transit Corridor on U.S. 1.

The big picture: The project is the second phase of a two-phased "transit-oriented affordable housing community," which includes 90 one-bedroom units and 52 two-bedroom apartments.

• Amenities will include a community room, fitness center and covered outdoor areas to encourage socialization.
• The 123-unit first phase, Caribbean Village, was completed in 2020.

What they're saying: Caribbean Isles "offers a true community where independence and social connection come together," David O. Deutch, co-founder and president of Miami-based co-developer Pinnacle, said in a news release.
