This Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. weekend, you can run a 5K with Diplo, watch some of the nation's best marching bands and march in the 49th annual MLK Day Parade.
🚗 The War on Cars: Transit Alliance is hosting a live recording of "The War on Cars" podcast at Coral Gables Miracle Theater today.
- Co-hosts Doug Gordon and Sarah Goodyear will be in conversation with Melissa and Chris Bruntlett from Modacity.
- 6pm.

🗣️ Third Thursdays: Miami Beach a Million Years Ago at the Bass Museum on Miami Beach offers an immersive outdoor walking lecture led by local historian Malcolm Lauredo.
- 6pm-9pm. Free with RSVP
🤝 Things Swap: Remember that show "Wife swap?" This is sort of like that but for your old knick knacks.
- Join The Things Lab and Miami Time Swap at Artisan's Playhouse in Hialeah on Saturday to connect with new people and let go of old items gathering dust in your home.
- Bring no more than 10 gently used items (no clothes) to swap with others.
- 2-5pm.
🥁 National Battle of the Bands: This showcase of marching bands from Historically Black Colleges and Universities takes place in Boca Raton.
- Saturday, 4pm. Flagler Credit Union Stadium

🙌 Diplo's Run Club 5K: The DJ is hosting a race and later performing at the afterparty.
- $134 for race entry & post-race concert.
- 9am. The race starts and ends at Maurice Ferré Park, where the concert will be held.
- There will be road closures downtown from 4am to 12:30pm.
👟 MLK Parade: The long-running Liberty City parade will run from Northwest 54th Street and Seventh Avenue to 32nd Avenue — 10 miles of road that organizers say Dr. King once traveled during his frequent visits to Miami.
- Monday, 11am.
- It will be followed by the annual Family Festival at MLK Memorial Park from 12pm-5pm.
- Road closures will start at 7:30am and roads will begin to reopen in phases at 2pm.
