The Coconut Grove food scene is growing, with two new restaurants and a cocktail lounge opening this fall.
Why it matters: It was a rough summer for Miami's food and beverage industry, as many high-profile spots shut down.
Driving the news: Mae's Group and chef Michael Beltran's Ariete Hospitality Group are opening three new concepts this fall in the courtyard at 3444 Main Highway, Miami New Times reports.
Chuggie's
Beltran — whose Grove restaurant Ariete has kept a Michelin star four years in a row — is already one of the city's most prolific restaurateurs.
- His newest baby, Chuggie's, is a play on his Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant Chug's Diner, located next door.
- The new burger joint will channel '90s nostalgia with fritas, burgers and chicken sandwiches.
- Kids can order the "Happiest of Meals" with a fast-food-like prize.
- Beer, cocktails and soft-serve ice cream are on tap, too.

Drinking Pig BBQ
Chef Raheem Sealey's beloved BBQ restaurant is getting a new brick-and-mortar location after closing its downtown Miami home.
- The new, 1,600-square-foot space will help Sealey "reimagine the Drinking Pig BBQ experience for a permanent setting and create a space where food, culture, and community merge," according to a press release.
- It will also mark one of the Grove's first BBQ restaurants, New Times reported.
- Drinking Pig combines "Southern tradition with Caribbean and Asian flavor profiles," according to New Times, which named it Miami's best BBQ in 2024.

Mae's Room
Hospitality veteran Tom Lasher-Walker will spearhead this new cocktail lounge with a focus on classic drinks.
- Guests at Mae's Room will be able to order off the Chuggie's menu, so feel free to pair that martini with a side of fries.
- "It's that high-low balance people want right now," Lasher-Walker told New Times.
