The University of Florida remains the state's highest ranked school, according to U.S. News & World Report.
Why it matters: The annual Best Colleges report is one of the most influential and controversial rankings of colleges nationwide.
- And since 2023, its methodology weighs outcomes — like graduation rates, student debt and earnings — more than ever before.
By the numbers: Florida had five schools in the Top 100 on the 2026 list.
Zoom in: Among public universities, Florida International University broke into the Top 50, ranking 46th.
- For the eighth straight year, UF was a Top 10 public university.
