Miami is a health junkie's dream land. We've got year-round sunshine, a mayor who dabbles as a fitness influencer and a gym on almost every block.
Why it maters: The Miami metro area has about 18 gyms per 100,000 residents, one of the highest rates among big U.S. metro areas, per government data.
How it works: These figures represent "fitness and recreational sports centers" in the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages data for Q3 2024.
