The American Black Film Festival returns to Miami Beach today for a five-day celebration of Black creators in the film and TV industry
The big picture: The ABFF, which started in 1997 to strengthen the Black entertainment community, draws over 7,000 attendees — and big-time celebrities — to the Beach every year.
Zoom in: This year's lineup features movie screenings, panel talks and networking parties.
Celebs slated to join the festivities include actors Nia Long, Gabrielle Union and Blair Underwood, retired NBA player Chris Paul and singer Ashanti.
The festival will conclude with a free Community Day at the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater on Sunday from 12pm-5pm, featuring film screenings and vendors.
