Review: Go Greek Yogurt is a twist on classic froyo treat

State of swirl: Like a classic froyo spot, Go Greek centers around its self-serve Greek frozen yogurt machines, complete with six individual rotating flavors and the combo swirl option in the middle, next to the toppings bar.

The intrigue: What separates it from the others is the fresh Greek yogurt station, featuring six huge tubs of classic Greek yogurt imported from Greece. This area also has a toppings bar.

• We were skeptical. Who would get a bowl of regular yogurt when there's a frozen option?
• But our curiosity got the best of us and we sampled the sour cherry (perfectly tart) and chocolate (more like a mousse?) and we were sold. Both flavors were thick and creamy.

What I ordered: Frozen yogurt still won.

• I tried the peanut butter and mango frozen yogurt (individual flavors, not a swirl), and topped it with fresh blueberries, strawberries, chocolate chips and honey (also from Greece!), and it was delightful.
• It's a bit pricey for a sweet treat — $15.31 after tax and tip, and I didn't even fill it that much — but what isn't these days?

The bottom line: While I probably won't ever get a bowl of Greek yogurt, I'll definitely be back for some froyo, especially on a hot day.
